The Independent Business News Network was established in July of 2008. The goal of IBNN is to provide a different view of the local, national and global news and events that happen in the Black communities around the world. IBNN's expectations are to provide a level of coverage and investigative reporting not seen on local mainstream media, while covering Politics, Education, Money, Business, and Community events. IBNN is an affiliate of Black Politics in Minneapolis, Radical Black USA and other African American news sources. Comments, concerns and questions can be emailed to ibnnnews@gmail.com

Part 2: Peace Foundation – “You just can’t stop by here!”

Attention Community members – when you get a chance, look up the term Blind-Sided.

by Donald W.R. Allen, II – Editor in Chief/IBNN NEWS and USA Radical Black

Minneapolis, MN (June28, 2010/IBNN NEWS)…Today IBNN stopped by 1200 West Broadway to follow-up on some community rumors about major capital purchases done by the Peace Foundation – if true; this information should be available to the general public and especially community members.

At approximately 2:05 p.m. today, IBNN visited the offices of the Peace Foundation.

Asked to “step out in the hall,” IBNN was told by Pastor Andre Dukes that, “You just can’t stop by here!” IBNN asked could we make an appointment to talk to Ms. Martin or Ms. Samuels and if a secretary was available to schedule a good time, Pastor Dukes replied, “I don’t think the want to talk to you, and I am the secretary for the Peace Foundation.

Also today – we had a special appearance by the Northway Community Trust’ Wesly Walker – who I asked, what does NWCT do here? His answer was, “The same thing we did down at the other location.”  (Mmmm)

A few things have changed since the March 19, 2010 meetings held at University Lutheran Church of Hope were Sondra H. Samuels and Andre Dukes presented the Northside Achievement Zone to a group of folks that did not represent the community – including former Minnesota Governor Al Quie.

So far NAZ and the Peace Foundation has not given the community any reasonable consideration in terms of full disclosure and introduction to processes.

Then Mr. Dukes title was director of outreach and engagement for NAZ – while also being the Pastor in charge of community affairs for Shiloh International Ministries.

Since Mr. Dukes and Ms. Samuels don’t want to answer any questions about “public” operations of the Foundation – I’ll just ask here.

What does Northside Policy Action Coalition do? On their website, it lists the following organizations -  along with some very exciting propaganda.

PEACE Foundation; Northway Community Trust; West Broadway Coalition; Minneapolis Urban League; NorthPoint Health & Wellness Inc; Turning Point; Emerge Community Development; and KMOJ:

Your 2008 IRS 990’s shows that $22,000.00 went to this organization to support its efforts – what was the final outcome?

I was told today, that as a community member or even as a reporter – a local non-profit agency “doesn’t really want to talk to me – what happens to the other thousands of north Minneapolis residents want answers – its coming real soon.
