2012: Tim Pawlenty for President? In the meantime, who’s going to fix the Republican Party of America?

This post has already been read 143 times!

"Is there time to RESET the GOP so T-Paw can have the seal?'

The Republican Party of America has an outdated, non-functioning platform that will spell doom for GOP congressional candidates across America. Not only will it doom the Republicans chance of regaining the White House, it will hurt any chance of Mr. Tim Pawlenty having a successful run for president against the current President Barack Obama. The Republican Party of America must reset the party and the people in the party. Anything less will spell disaster for Mr. Pawlenty.

By Donald W.R. Allen, II – Editor in Chief/IBNN NEWS and Black Politics in Minneapolis

Minneapolis, MN (IBNN NEWS/Editorial Opinion/May 22, 2011)…I’ve been an active participant in a Facebook group called, “America for Pawlenty 2012.”

I’ve followed the treads and comments from Conservatives, the hard-core Right and those Christian Fundamentalist who think that “God” will put Mr. Pawlenty in office rather than understanding work must be done within and around the current Republican Party of America. There will be no “immaculate appointment” to president for Tim Pawlenty, nor can the Republican Party of America continue its downhill process of singing to the choir and presenting a racial barrier for those people of color around the United States that would vote for Mr. Pawlenty but don’t want to have anything to do with the local Republicans and their antiquated platforms.

In 2012, if Pawlenty is the GOP endorsed candidate for president, he will face a popular foe by the name of Barack Obama.  While Mr. Pawlenty is presented as a “nice guy,” we all know that nice guys finish last.

My focus and mission on this particular articles and the others to come is to support Tim Pawlenty – but also take a real look at the machine behind him, the Republican Party of American and show on the parties current path, it will spell doom for Mr.  Pawlenty in the same way a comedian was able to upset Norm Coleman in 2008.

The RINO’s (Republicans in name only), at the table hesitate to make informed decisions on outreach, collaborations and inclusion. All 50 states GOP’s must be re-organized immediately. This means stepping on toes and pointing to the doors for some.

If Pawlenty will even have a chance, the “reset” button must be pushed now, rather than later. Yeah, it might be easy for Pawlenty to take Minnesota, but there are 49 other states with large populations of minority-ethnics, and White Republicans who voted for Obama in 2008. (Don’t be surprised, the GOP shot itself in the foot in 2008).

Is the Republican Party of America willing to implement a new public relations campaign?

More importantly – can they?

Do current Republican Party staffers have the intellectual properties to idea, create and implement a new direction – or will they go out and hire a marketing firm that is already GOP friendly with no diversity on its staff and implement a lame-duck campaign that continues to deny, obstruct and exclude a diverse community of people around the United States.

The revolution of 2012 in the presidential race is called, “The Year of Preparation,” meaning that all political parties must re-evaluate their positions, policies and people to insure a top-of-mind campaign outreach that includes people who don’t look like the Minnesota GOP office in St. Paul and other cities around America.

Part of the outreach is having capable people of color playing an important role within the organization while maintaining a public presence in his/her community. This includes Town Hall meetings, social events, Fundraisers and volunteering around the state of Minnesota.

To put it even more simply, if community activist and 2009 mayoral candidate Al Flowers can be named as the NAACP Political Action Chairman, why is it so hard for the GOP here in Minneapolis to give me (Don Allen) a call back? The DFL political plantation has found a way to insert Mr. Flowers and make him creditable. The Republican Party of Minnesota has only learned to send out mass emails with mostly non-sense and attacks without putting anything on the table.

In 2008 during the congressional campaign, Michelle Bachmann told me, “The Minnesota GOP needs a bulldog, and you are that Bulldog” (In 2008 I was campaign manager for Barb Davis White who ran against Keith “Cry for Somalia” Ellison.)

I’ve also been told, “We have African-Americans who we consult with.” When they tell me this (The MN GOP and other GOP’s across the US), I laugh so hard – especially in Minnesota.

The token Negros they have in the “circle of complete numbness” does not have the capacity to bust a grape – and for the most part, they are “Yes-Negros.” But the Minnesota GOP and the HNIC’s (Head Negros in Charge), they’ve picked also lack the logic, business acumen, and process to successfully change the directions of the office in St. Paul.

I see these brothers hosting forums in remote locations “outside of the hood” and totally bowing down to a system that has excluded them for a chance of some ill-willed reality that the GOP has placed them at the top of the heap…not so! The reason it happens like that is because they will not ask the hard questions of the GOP and remained hoodwinked by a system that will ask them to volunteer for some outreach and when Sarah Palin or Newt Gingrich come to town for a dinner, the Negros who work so hard (sarcasm) aren’t invited and tucked away far from sight. (It just happened less than a month ago).

If Mr. Tim Pawlenty or any other Republican is serious about winning the presidency in 2012, they must push the RESET button on the Republican Party of America. Until then, millions of dollars will be wasted and the Republicans will have a repeat of 2008.

I don’t know about you – but I’m sick of coming in second.
