The Independent Business News Network was established in July of 2008. The goal of IBNN is to provide a different view of the local, national and global news and events that happen in the Black communities in the Twin Cities, as well as the United States. Our expectations are to provide a level of coverage and investigative reporting not seen or read in a long time. IBNN NEWS covers Politics, Education, Money, Business, and Community events. In most cases, the mainstream media doesn’t cover important news in the Black community. IBNN is here to tear open the tent!

By Donald W.R. Allen,II – Editor in Chief/IBNN NEWS and Black Politics in Minneapolis

Saint Paul, MN (IBNN NEWS/Obituary/December 28, 2011)…On Monday night members of the Council on Black Minnesotans recieved the shocking news that board chairman George Ogbonna had died.

Mr. Ogbonna was battling cancer. He had announced to the COBM that his cancer was in remission. COBM’s board member Lucky Rosenblom said, “George came to all of the COBM meeting and special meetings. He wanted to see change within and around the COBM. It’s an unfortunate timing of his death, he will surely be missed.”

IBNN NEWS and it’s affiliates would like to take this opportunity to rely our condolences to Mr. Ogbonna, his family, friends and of course Black Minnesotans. Rest in Peace.
