IBNN NEWS has covered KMOJ-FM and the Center for Communications and Development for the last 5-years. We have brought up questions from the use of the Empowerment Zone dollars to the releasing of popular morning show hosts who might of asked the wrong questions of management. Win, draw or lose – IBNN attests, there’s an issue inside of the station that needs to be addressed sooner than later. Is KMOJ-FM the “People’s Station or someones personal playground?”

Minneapolis, MN (IBNN/Public Radio/June 13, 2012)…Sources tell IBNN NEWS that long-time radio veteran and the voice of the MN Lynx, Sy Huff has been pulled off the air. This comes amidst internal chaos inside of the station between management and certain on-air personalities who have gained some success in their careers outside of the public radio station.
In a recent poll taken by IBNN NEWS, 100% of participants think KMOJ-FM needs an internal audit. This also is in response to “whistle-blowers” who have called IBNN to ask questions and state concerns about money for the upcoming KMOJ Boat Ride event and other events that allegedly dollars are possibly not accounted for. Also, there’s conversation around a Valentine’s Day incident involving a spouse who works at KMOJ, which in our opinion was morally disrespectful.
IBNN NEWS has a long history with KMOJ-FM including the editor and chief being the former Economic Development Director of the station in 1989 and 1990 when the station saw more direct income under the leadership of KMOJ/CCD board chairman, Mr. Ronald A. Edwards.
It would appear, this is the same set if circumstances that happened to former Morning Show hosts Sonny Day and Darrin Gray, (read the full story here).
IBNN NEWS will keep the community informed on changes and updates – but for now, Big-Sy wasn’t on the air this morning – which leads us to speculate, and there’s more than what meets the eyes going on inside of KMOJ-FM
